DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 5, 2023) — St Ambrose University (SAU) is one of only 149 universities and colleges around the world to be honored by Exercise is Medicine® for its efforts to create a culture of wellness on campus. Faculty and staff health-coaching programs, walking groups, educational seminars, and plogging initiatives helped SAU’s chapter earn silver-level designation from the Exercise is Medicine® On Campus (EIM-OC) program.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (April 4, 2023) — The University of Dubuque and Northeast Iowa School of Music will host Treble Fest, 2-5PM, Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2155 University Avenue. The new music festival will conclude with a free public concert presentation at 4PM with Heartland Harmony, University of Dubuque Treble Singers, and collaborative performances featuring Treble Fest participants singing in massed chorus with both choral groups.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (March 31, 2023) — The Archway Reading and Lecture Series at the University of Dubuque will host a reading and discussion with author Barrett Swanson at 6:30PM, Thursday, April 13, 2023, in the Multicultural Student Center, Peter and Susan Smith Welcome Center, on campus.

The event is free and open to the public. It will include a brief Q&A with Swanson.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (March 30, 2023) — Brenda Butler ('71), Christopher DeWald ('83), and Jeremy Butler ('95) will receive Alumni Achievement Awards during a ceremony at Knox College on May 5, 2023. During the same event, Ladipo Lawani ('08) will receive the Young Alumni Achievement Award. The awards recognize notable alumni for their achievements and for their contributions to Knox and the community.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (March 30, 2023) — Coe College will host a re-entry simulation on Wednesday, April 12, 6-8PM, in Eby Fieldhouse on the Coe campus. This interactive simulation is free and open to the public, and provides a glimpse into the challenges those returning from incarceration face. A previous reentry simulation occurred last year in April.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (March 30, 2023) Monmouth College students will get to study US political campaigns next fall with two of the Midwest's political veterans.

Former US Representative Cheri Bustos will team up with Monmouth political science lecturer Robin Johnson to teach the College's "Campaign Methods" course.

WATERLOO, IOWA (March 30, 2023) — Upper Iowa University (UIU) and Hawkeye Community College (Hawkeye) are partnering to create a unique pathway with an Associate-Baccalaureate Accelerated Nursing Program. This dual-enrollment program allows nursing students the opportunity to complete their Associate degree in Nursing through Hawkeye and get a head start on their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through UIU during the summer semesters.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (March 28, 2023) — Former US Representative Richard A Gephardt will deliver this year's Monmouth College Commencement address.

Monmouth's 166th Commencement exercise will be at noon on Sunday, May 14, on the College's Wallace Hall Plaza. The rain site will be the Huff Athletic Center field house.

ROCKI ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 28, 2023) — Augustana College's Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Michael Zemek, will embark on a performance tour April 14-16 in Missouri and Iowa. They will also perform selections from their tour on April 29 on campus.

"Our program is titled 'And I Can Sing,' and it celebrates the joy of being able to sing together once again while seeking to understand the barriers and challenges we may encounter along the way," said Zemek.
