DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 28, 2023) — The Quad Cities World Cultures Festival features performances by individuals and groups of various cultures from the Quad Cities area. In 2019, over 400 attendees had the opportunity to honor, celebrate, and present diverse and distinctive cultures around the world.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 28, 2023) — A grant from the Roy J Carver Charitable Trust will allow Augustana College faculty and students to engage in next-generation DNA-sequencing research.

The $118,062 grant will be used to purchase an Illumina MiniSeq instrument, Nanodrop spectrophotometer, refrigerated shaking incubator, and necessary supplementary equipment and supplies.

PELLA, IOWA (March 27, 2023) — Russell Goodman, professor of mathematics at Central College, presented research revealing the theoretical lowest percentage of the popular vote that a presidential candidate would need to win a presidential election.

DUBUQUE, IOWA (March 27, 2023) — The Archway Reading and Lecture Series at the University of Dubuque will host a reading and discussion with Chessy Normile and Steven Espada Dawson at 4:30PM, Monday, April 3, 2023, in the Multicultural Student Center, Peter and Susan Smith Welcome Center on campus.

The event is free and open to the public. It will include a brief Q&A with Normile and Espada Dawson.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 23, 2023) — The Augustana Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr James Lambrecht, will perform concerts in Japan in March and April. Between performances, students will visit multiple cities throughout Japan and fully immerse themselves in the culture.

The fifty-person ensemble will perform pieces by Yasuhide Ito, Philip Sparke, Julie Giroux, David Maslanka, Frank Ticheli, and John Philip Sousa.

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN (March 23, 2023) — Milwaukee School of Engineering congratulates students named to the Winter Quarter 2023 Dean's List. Undergraduate students who have earned at least thirty credits and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher (out of 4.0) are on the Dean's List. Students who have maintained a 3.70 or higher receive "high honors."
