WHITEWATER, WISCONSIN (March 1, 2024) — Kaitlyn Collins from Cordova, Illinois, who is studying Special Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, is representing the university as a student teacher during the spring 2024 semester.

Collins, a student in UW-Whitewater's College of Education and Professional Studies, is serving as a student teacher in Special Education in the Milton school district(s) through the end of the school year.

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 1, 2024) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced $1 million in initial funding for competitive grants available through the Iowa Department of Education to support school districts that partner with or create local child-care centers to help more high-school students earn a national child-development credential.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (February 28, 2024) — A public reading will be one of the highlights of a visit to Monmouth College's campus by award-winning poet Taylor Byas.

Byas will read from her works at 4:30 p.m. March 4 on the upper floor of Hewes Library, outside the Len G Everett Gallery. The event is free and open to the public.

WAVERLY, IOWA (February 28, 2024) — Rachel Green was one of 29 Wartburg College students to be recognized for their work with student media at the annual Iowa College Media Association Awards.

Green, of DeWitt, Iowa, received first place in Best Short Video Documentary.

KWAR, the student-run radio station, received the Audio Excellence of the Year Award.
