Made in Illinois, the Prairie State Farmhouse Ale debuts in Chicago

CHICAGO (Feb. 8, 2018) — Gov. Bruce Rauner today announced the availability of the official Bicentennial Craft Beer and tapped the first keg at Binny’s Beverage Depot Tasting Room in Lincoln Park. 

Hand of Fate Brewing Co. of Petersburg created the special birthday brew — 1818 Prairie State … Farmhouse Ale — which is being distributed statewide by Breakthru Beverage Illinois.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg announced the fourth annual Give Back Iowa Challenge Monday. The challenge is issued to employers and runs from April 1-May 31, 2018, to engage Iowans in employer-supported volunteering.

“Volunteerism is an integral part of what it means to be an Iowan,” Gov. Reynolds said. “Through service, Iowans are making the lives of others better and meeting community challenges, while also transforming their own lives.”

CHICAGO (Feb. 9, 2018) — The Governor’s Office today posted its latest PolicyPOV blog. It examines how the state’s new scholarship tax credit program — Invest in Kids — is opening the doors of educational opportunity for tens of thousands of Illinois students.

WASHINGTON – A group of U.S. Senators tomorrow will introduce a common-sense proposal aimed at providing legal certainty for undocumented children brought to the United States by their parents and preventing others from falling into the same legal limbo in the future.

Throughout the month of February, we recognize the achievements of remarkable African American men and women, including many great leaders here in Iowa. This month provides an important opportunity to commemorate the contributions made to our country by these brave men and women, and to rededicate ourselves to making our nation more just and equal for everyone.

WASHINGTON – In a letter to the Committee’s Ranking Minority Member today, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley outlined the process for preparing for the release of Committee transcripts of interviews with witnesses to the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting, so that the American people know what the Committee knows in preparation for any public hearings with those witnesses.

SPRINGFIELD – The Abraham Lincoln Association will install Southern California Lincoln enthusiast Bob Willard as the organization's new President for a two-year term during the annual Abraham Lincoln Association (ALA) Symposium Banquet on Monday, February 12 in Springfield. Willard will succeed Springfield's Kathryn Harris, who will complete her two-year term that evening.
