New State ID Program for Cook County Jail Detainees Aims to “Help People Reintegrate”

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (December 13, 2023) — Detainees on their way out of Cook County Jail will soon be able to take a key resource with them on the journey, under a first-of-its-kind ID program being launched this week by state and county officials.

Gov Kim Reynolds Hosts 2024 Iowa Teacher of the Year, Ann Mincks, and Students

DES MOINES, IOWA (December 4, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds hosted the 2024 Iowa Teacher of the Year, Ann Mincks, and her students to honor her work improving literacy outcomes. Mincks is an English Language Learner (ELL) teacher at Hoover High School in Des Moines. The award recognizes her work utilizing evidence-based literacy practices to improve literacy and support students in achieving their highest reading level possible.

Friendship Manor Launches $12.5 Million Campaign

Friendship Manor is now moving into their next era of excellence. Advent Book Study Shows Iowa United Methodists’ Hope for The Future

DES MOINES, IOWA (November 28, 2023) — Hundreds joined Bishop Kennetha J Bigham-Tsai for an Advent Zoom study of Bishop Kenneth H Carter's book, Unrelenting Grace — A United Methodist Way of Life. Nearly 700 registered for the online devotional series, and at least 100 more joined in groups at churches and homes for the first session.
