It’s also a new day for NAMIWalks Your Way Greater Mississippi Valley, the annual fundraising and awareness event presented by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), known locally as NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (August 9, 2022) — In the two years since a powerful derecho devastated the Cedar Rapids tree canopy, donors have contributed more than $2.8 million to support the ReLeaf Cedar Rapids recovery plan in a fundraising campaign led by Trees Forever. This (ie contributions) is added to $10 million previously committed by the City of Cedar Rapids.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (August 9, 2022) — The Ascentra Credit Union Foundation (ACUF) has partnered with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois since 2020 to help fund the Girl Scouts Community Outreach Series. This series directly supports more than 1,100 at-risk girls in the underserved areas of Moline, Rock Island, Davenport, and Muscatine by building courage, confidence, and character through a Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 9, 2022) — Friendly House (1221 Myrtle St, Davenport) will be hosting a Back to School Resource Fair in our south parking lot on Thursday, August 11, 4-6PM (while supplies last). The first day of school is still a couple weeks away, but many families are already starting to plan and purchase supplies for their children. We don’t want school supplies to be something of worry for anyone.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 28, 2022) — Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities’ Executive Director Kristi Crafton announces she will retire in January 2023 after eighteen years with the organization. Thomas Fisher-King, Quad City Bank and Trust, First Vice President of Real Estate Operations and Facilities Management will be Habitat’s next Executive Director. Tom will begin his new role on September 17, allowing for a three-month transition.

Habitat Homes N° 128, N° 129, and N° 130 will be the future homes of Sarah Ross, Balkiss Fousseni and Abdounazirou Adamou, Ayi Amavi and Vidjinnagni Tossou, and their families.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (July 26, 2022) — For eighteen years, Midwest Hope and Healing offered encouragement and comfort to 4,000 breast cancer patients with signature healing baskets. Through the generosity of donors, Midwest Hope and Healing established a grantmaking fund at The Moline Foundation to continue their legacy of caring for those newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 20, 2022) — Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities is one of more than 230 Habitat for Humanity affiliates awarded a grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation as part of its nationwide initiative to help low to moderate income families build and improve their homes across the US.

Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities received a $15,000 grant to help build a home in Davenport.
