In Iowa, twelve food banks will be receiving grants, which will support food distribution and infrastructure, including refrigeration, transportation, storage and expanding their capacity.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (November 21, 2024) — The Quad Cities Community Foundation has announced the launch of two cohort-based programs that will support the growth and development of local non-profits. Beginning in January 2025, nearly 100 non-profit professionals and volunteers — made up of teams from dozens of non-profits — will participate in the programs, gaining valuable knowledge and creating networks that will support the development of non-profits across the region.

LETTS, IOWA (November 20, 2024) — Cedar River Haven, a recovery residence for women in Southeast Iowa, will welcome the public to an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, coinciding with Giving Tuesday. Founded by Freda Sojka, creator of the iconic Bug Soother, the non-profit combines safe housing, life-skills training, and mentorship to support women in recovery.
