In 2017, the Legislature and Governor prohibited cities and counties from establishing better wages, employment benefits and other standards than what are required by federal or state law.

Yesterday’s appellate decision overturns past court opinions, ruling that Congress never intended to exclude service members who served in the seas around Vietnam from receiving the presumption that their illnesses were connected to Agent Orange exposure.

The Veterans Access to Care Act would help improve veterans’ medical facilities by allowing facilities with a need for additional health care professionals to apply to be designated as a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).
