September 5, 2017 – GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities, the local Down Syndrome Achievement Center, will host their annual 5K Run, 1-mile Walk and Dash for Down syndrome at Veterans Memorial Park in Bettendorf, IA on Saturday October 7, 2017. Participants will enjoy entertainment, ice cream, inflatables, raffles and prizes. The 5K is a timed event with chipped bibs for competitive runners.

The City of Davenport will be conducting the 11th annual urban deer hunt beginning on Saturday, September 16th, continuing through Wednesday, January 10th. Areas eligible for the urban deer hunt include any city or private property within the city limits which are of three (3) acres or larger. Landowner permission is required to hunt on private property. The only legal deer license recognized for the urban deer hunt will be the special deer management zone permit.

PEORIA, Ill. -- Two ninth-inning walks led to a walk-off single by Evan Mendoza to down the Quad Cities River Bandits, 4-3, to the Peoria Chiefs Wednesday night at Dozer Park. The Bandits were left standing by Peoria three times in the regular season as well. Chas McCormick had a pair of hits and an RBI while Josh Rojas and Kristian Trompiz also drove in runs for Quad Cities.
