Dubuque County's Jacqueline Ehrlich Crowned 2017 Iowa State Fair Queen

DES MOINES, IA (08/12/2017) (readMedia)-- Jacqueline Ehrlich, 19, of Dubuque County was crowned the 2017 Iowa State Fair Queen by John Harms, president of the Fair Board. This year's ceremony, which marked the 53nd anniversary of the contest, took place on Saturday evening at the Anne and Bill Riley Stage sponsored by Pepsi with media sponsor CW Iowa 23.

Remarkable Acts Advance at Iowa State Fair Riley Competition

DES MOINES, IA (08/11/2017) (readMedia)-- Five talented Senior division acts (ages 13-21) have advanced to the semi-final round in Bill Riley's 58th annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search. Each act will perform again on Thursday, August 17, Friday, August 18 or Saturday, August 19.

Due to high demand, Mississippi River Visitor Center receives extra senior passes

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi River Visitor Center has received a new shipment of $10 America the Beautiful - Senior Passes, which had previously been sold out and were not expected to be replaced. This is the only facility within the Rock Island District that will have passes available. The passes, which have been in high demand since a price increase was announced in July, are available to all U.S.

The Astros' player development department made the announcement Thursday, also announcing former River Bandit Rogelio Armenteros as the pitcher of the month.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The River Bandits beat the Cedar Rapids Kernels 7-6 on Thursday night at Perfect Game Field. Troy Sieber and Abraham Toro-Hernandez hit back-to-back jacks in the fifth. Jesus Balaguer earned the win out of relief.
