Escape Winter with Family Fun at Your Library

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (January 12, 2026) — Tired of winter? Escape to your own Book Island through the pages of a book! Our winter reading challenge for all ages starts today, Monday, January 12, and lasts through February 21.

Complete squares for racking up reading minutes and library activites on our bingo challenge. Participate though Beanstack or ask for a paper log. Either way, all ages earn registration and completion prizes.

Icestravaganza a Fun, Family-Friendly Outdoor Winter Event in Downtown Davenport January 16-18

BHS Christmas Star Program December 10-16

BETTENDORF, IOWA (November 18, 2025) — The Donald A Schaefer Planetarium will be showing its annual Christmas Star program beginning Wednesday, December 10. The show will run every night through Tuesday, December 16. All shows will start at 7PM. Arrive early for holiday music and light show starting at 6:30. The Christmas Star is a tradition at BHS dating back to 1974. The show is free of charge, but seating is limited.
