The Riverboat Twilight 2014 Cruise Season began May 27th.  Cruises will depart every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday through the end of October.  It is with honor and pleasure that the Twilight has called LeClaire her home port for the past 27 years.  Over the years we have had the unique opportunity of introducing 140,000 plus visitors to the many wonderful shops, restaurants and attractions the City of LeClaire has to offer. We look forward to another successful season.

There will a race on June 21st 2014 to benefit the Chris VanSpeybroeck memorial scholarship.
The race will have 7 waves of the 1 mile and the unique distance of the 6K. It is the only race of its kind in the area celebrating the Artisan Micro Brewing craft and the Arts. The first prize winner is this art piece by Bill Marsoun in acrylics. The art piece will go to the fastest runner in both men and women categories.
The race will take place down Moline along the Historic and Beautiful Fifth Avenue.
The mile wave race will start  at 4:00 p.m. And the the different waves will be released every 10 minutes. And the 6 K will start at 5:30 p.m. Awards will be given at 6:30 p.m. at the city owned parking lot " U " behind Bier Stube, Bent River and LemonGrass restaurants.

The memorial scholarship's primary goal is to educate and increase awareness of Meningococcal disease and provide scholarships to graduating seniors from local Illinois High Schools in all areas who will attest to receiving the vaccination.
The Scholarship Is based on an original essay and the recipient gets a  $500 scholarship if selected.
2013-14 Winners from each school are: Lauren VanSpeybroeck, Alleman; Sarah Dellert, Geneseo; Molly Rumler, Moline; Kyrstin Plohr, Rock Island, and Amanda DeVilder, United Township.
Organizers are: Joshua Sherrod and James Hogan and a strong committee.
The Davenport Rotary Club's Second Annual WingFest will be held June 21, from 3 pm - 7 pm, at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. "This is a celebration of the popular chicken wing appetizers, or Buffalo wings," according to club president Gary Loss, "and the proceeds will be distributed to local charities through our club's annual granting process."
Six area vendors will compete for the recognition of "Best Quad City Wings" at the event. The vendors will be Happy Joe's/Grille 350, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chef James Preszlar Catering, JJ's Big Fish and More, Thunder Bay Bar & Grille, and Rivals Sports Bar & Grill.
Admission to the event includes two wings from each of the vendors (additional wings can be purchased), live entertainment, and a bounce house for the kids. Beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

The Mississippi Valley Blues Festival celebrates its 30th annual festival on July 3-5 with an all-star line-up of a variety of blues legends and up-and-coming stars. More than 10,000 festival enthusiasts are expected to partake in the three days of fun, food, and great music on the banks of the Mississippi River in Davenport, Iowa. The Mississippi Valley Blues Festival is considered one of the top five blues festivals in this country and one of the top twenty in the world.

Almost 20 PGA Tour winners and more than a dozen British Open contestants have committed to play in the PGA TOUR's John Deere Classic on July 7-13, 2014, at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. Tickets for the John Deere Classic are available at johndeereclassic.com or by calling 800-336-4655. Free admission will be offered for professional practice rounds on Monday, July 7th and Tuesday, July 8th. The annual John Deere Classic pro-am is set for Wednesday, July 9th with both morning and afternoon tee times. The tournament itself runs Thursday through Sunday, July 10-13.

The Quad City Rockfest on July 19 will offer seven bands and eight hours of music 3-11 p.m. in and outside the iWireless Center in downtown Moline. The arena is teaming up with MetroLink and the city of Moline to host Rockfest, featuring Night Ranger and Firehouse, with bands inside the iWireless Center and on top of the MetroLink parking garage. There will be food, beverages, other vendors and contests!

  • Red, White & Boom! on July 3rd beginning at approximately 6:00 pm features the largest fireworks display in the Quad-Cities shot over the Mississippi along with family events in the Davenport, Iowa, and Rock Island, Ill., downtown riverfronts.
  • In East Moline, Ill., the 4th of July celebration has fireworks on July 3rd at approximately 9:00 pm from The Quarter, 7th Street and the Mississippi riverfront.
  • Run the Firecracker Run on July 4th at 7:30 am. At 1 p.m., watch the AMVETS 4th of July Parade that goes through the downtown on 15th Ave
  • The 4th of July Celebration in downtown Bettendorf, Iowa, kicks off on July 4th with a parade through the downtown at 10 a.m., followed by activities starting at 12 noon, and fireworks at dusk.

The Riverboat Twilight 2014 Cruise Season began May 27th.  Cruises will depart every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday through the end of October.  It is with honor and pleasure that the Twilight has called LeClaire her home port for the past 27 years.  Over the years we have had the unique opportunity of introducing 140,000 plus visitors to the many wonderful shops, restaurants and attractions the City of LeClaire has to offer. We look forward to another successful season.

It's time once again for the QUAD CITIES CRUISERS ANNUAL CAR SHOW.

We have a new location, the Kimberly Center!  The Kimberly Center is located at 1002 West Kimberly Rd., Davenport, IA.

It's our 32nd Consecutive Car Show.  This year's local charities that we are raising money for are:

Hand In Hand, Viet Nam Veterans Chapter #299, & Quad Cities Crimestoppers.

Proceeds from this car show as well as our cruise-ins throughout the spring, summer and fall will be divided equally among these three organizations.

Come see hundreds of classic cars, hot rods and rides that motor car enthusiasts of all ages will enjoy!  This FAMILY FRIENDLY event is FREE to all spectators!  The local area car enthusiasts will be donating $15 per car for a chance to compete for a top 100 plaque.

The rides will be shined and on display from 4p-9p.
