DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 25, 2021) — Alcohol is the N° 1 abused substance in the state of Iowa and Iowa ranks second in the nation for excessive drinking. Almost half of the youth in Scott County reported having had their first drink of alcohol before age 17.

Shred Day at the Davenport Public Library

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 24, 2021) — The Davenport Public Library is partnering with Oelerich, Reiling, and Miller PC and Shred-It to present a Free Shred Day on Thursday, April 22, 1–4PM, at the Davenport Eastern Avenue Branch (6000 Eastern Ave.). Community members can bring up to three standard file containers, maximum size 15 x 12 x 10 inches, for secure shredding. Documents will be confidentially shredded on-site.

Join prevention staff from the Center for Alcohol and Drug Services Inc. on March 24, 1PM, on Zoom, to learn about the hidden addiction of gambling. For many, gambling is a form of entertainment, but for others, gambling can lead to debt, bankruptcy, and failed relationships.
