BETTENDORF, IOWA (October 21, 2019) — Over 400 survivors last year. Hard to believe it has been 31 years and the tradition continues to thrive. Governor’s Infamous European Cross Country Run, co-sponsored by Running Wild and the Cornbelt Running Club, will be held on a new day this year: Saturday, November 2, 2019, 1PM, at Scott County Park. Participants from previous years continue to return and confirm how exciting and different this event is from all other local runs.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (October 16, 2019) — Miss Mississippi Crown Scholarship Organization officials announced today the revival of the Miss Mississippi Crown Competition will be held on October 27 at 4PM. The Miss Mississippi Crown Scholarship Organization is proud to welcome more than 10 candidates from around the state to the competition, which will take place at the Center for Living Arts West Location in the old Establishment Theatre in Rock Island.

 

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (October 9, 2019) — Your dog is welcome to spend the afternoon out with you in the gardens. The afternoon is packed with activities for your four-legged doggie friends and human two-legged companions.

Free admission Sunday, 10/13, 1-3PM with donation of dog or cat food, treats, or a toy that is not stuffed that will be distributed to local shelters.

This new event is part of our month-long programming called Pumpkin Extravaganza.

Bring your flashlights and explore the nooks and crannies of the Sun Garden — search for spiders, bats, jack-o-lanterns, and toads as you wander down the darkened pathways.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 7, 2019) — Two Downtown Davenport, Second Street businesses will be holding a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, October 11, at 4PM.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 27, 2019) — Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Davenport Public Library (Main) by exploring a collection of materials documenting local Hispanic life in the Quad Cities. The exhibit highlights a collection on loan from a local resident and materials from the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center.  Learn about the cultural, social, and historical experiences of this vibrant community through newspaper articles, textiles, photographs, and more.
