Davenport Public Library School Supply Drive July 15–August 15

DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 17, 2019) — The Davenport Public Library will be collecting school supplies to distribute to area youth at the Fairmount Block Party on August 17. If you are interested in donating, you may drop off your items to any Davenport Library Branch during hours of operation. It is the hope to have enough supplies so that all children in attendance at the party will be able to take home supplies to be better prepared for school.

Downtown Davenport Partnership Announces 48th Annual Street Fest Lineup

DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 11, 2019) — The Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP) has announced the lineup for the 48th Annual Street Fest presented by Cobham in downtown Davenport on Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27, during Bix 7 weekend. Three blocks of 2nd street between Ripley St and Brady St will be dedicated to the Quad-Cities’ biggest homecoming party that features food, music, shopping, and fun for the whole family.

One-Thousand Campers to Celebrate National Summer Learning Week at TaxSlayer Center on 07/11

QUAD CITIES (July 10, 2019) — Thousands of Quad City-area youth keep learning all summer long at enrichment camps. On Thursday, July 11, they will all gather at the TaxSlayer Center to celebrate efforts to curb summer learning-loss.

The event, National Summer Learning Week, begins at 10AM. The media is invited to see all the activities and to interview campers and leaders about their summer.

Kids Can Explore Farming and Construction at the John Deere Pavilion’s Learn and Play Day, Saturday, July 20

This popular annual event welcomes kids of all ages to spend the day playing and learning about the work of John Deere customers. At this free event, children learn about life on a farm and work on a construction site.

Second Annual Best of the Wurst, 06/22, 11AM-3PM

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 21, 2019) — Join us on Saturday, June 22, 11AM-3PM, for our second annual Best of the Wurst Sausage Competition! Sample sausage from local vendors, purchase delicious food, enjoy an ice cold beer, listen to music by The Guttenberg German Band, and vote for the "Best of the Wurst!"

Tickets are $5. Children under 12 are free.
