DES MOINES, IOWA (December 2, 2024) — Governor Kim Reynolds has joined sixteen other Republican governors in sending a letter to Congress calling on legislators to reauthorize an updated Farm Bill and provide our nation’s farmers immediate financial assistance so American farmers can continue to feed our nation and the world.

The letter reads as:

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (November 18, 2024) — A sharp downturn in the agriculture economy is causing a ripple effect throughout the state, resulting in the loss of up to 11,400 jobs and $1.5 billion in value-added economic activity (GDP) and a $100 million loss to the state and local tax base, according to an exclusive Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) economic analysis.

BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS (September 12, 2024) — The Illinois Sustainable Ag Partnership (ISAP) has recently accepted four new member organizations into the Partnership. Illinois Farm Bureau, Illinois Nutrient Research & Education Council (NREC), Savanna Institute, and Saving Tomorrow’s Agriculture Resources (STAR) are the newest members to join ISAP, whose mission is to create a network to support a systems approach to improve soil health and reduce nutrient loss.
