Co-presented by the Figge Art Museum in conjunction with the venue's 15th-anniversary celebration, simultaneous live and virtual presentations will be held at Davenport's Hot Glass art studio on August 14, with founder and executive director Joel Ryder delivering a fascinating live glass-blowing demonstration and the resulting artwork auctioned off at the evening's end.

On display through January 10, and co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities and Schafer Interiors, Rob Lipnick: Mountains, Faces, Stories, & Stacks is currently being displayed at Davenport's Figge Art Museum, its collection including beautiful ceramic pieces and striking assemblages by a well-known area educator.

In celebration of the Figge Art Museum's 15th anniversary, the Davenport venue will be hosting an exclusive virtual tour of New York's William Louis-Dreyfus Collection on August 13, with the online events including an overview of the collection with the foundation's Christina Kee and Mary Anne Costello, as well as interviews with artists Hester Simpson and John Newman.

Appearing in conjunction with his forthcoming ceramics exhibition Mountains, Faces, Stories, & Stacks, noted Midwestern artist and educator Robert Lipnick guides viewers through his process in a Virtual Artist Talk on August 6, with the exhibit's August 15 through November 8 engagement at Davenport's Figge Art Museum co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities and Schafer Interiors.

The mysterious beauty of our oceans and the creatures who reside there will be explored and celebrated on dry land from August 7 through 27, with Bettendorf's Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy displaying colorful, fascinating works by a gifted local artist in the new painting exhibition Brian Buckles: Art for the Sea.

Appearing in a virtual July 30 Curator Talk hosted by Davenport's Figge Art Museum, the Figge's Assistant Curator Vanessa Sage offers insights into her curatorial process regarding the venue's current exhibition Seen & Heard: The Art of Empowerment – a celebration of women artists on display through May 2.

A longstanding, art-themed Quad Cities tradition continues into 2020 as Rock Island's Quad City Botanical Center, on August 1, presents its latest iteration of the community celebration Art in the Garden – a day filled with local arts and crafts, demonstrations, live music, and, as always, lots of extravagantly designed pink flamingos.

Appearing in a virtual July 23 Artist Talk hosted by Davenport's Figge Art Museum, a lauded Midwestern photojournalist discusses the images he shot for the venue's current exhibition QC Pride Photographs by Andy Abeyta – a celebration of Quad Cities Unity Pride's 2019 Pridefest, and the beautiful faces and sights Abeyta captured, on display through August 2.

Appearing in a virtual July 16 Curator Talk hosted by Davenport's Figge Art Museum, Dr. Jennifer Jankauskas, Curator of Art at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, discusses works in the venue's current exhibition About Face: Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture a celebration of the beauty of hand-crafted objects on view through August 30.

Interactive exhibits don't get any more interactive than Remote Control, the new, community-created exhibition at Davenport's Figge Art Museum. On display from July 10 through August 30, this response-driven collection is part game, part art showcase, and all celebration of our local collective imagination – the rare exhibit that literally doesn't exist without the participation of its viewers.
