A thoughtful and fascinating Frieze Lecture Series presentation on the man whom many regard as the first environmentalist, the Rock Island Public Library's “Cosmos” & the Work of Alexander von Humboldt will, on November 3, find Augustana College's professor of biology Dr Stephen Hager exploring Humboldt’s holistic observation of all of nature, with special emphasis on the German scientist's 19th-century book Cosmos: A Sketch of a Physical Description of the Universe.

A genuine blues-rock legend who famously opened for B.B. King when he was only 12 years old, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joe Bonamassa makes his long-awaited return to Davenport's Adler Theatre on November 9, treating fans to the hard-driving talents that have resulted in chart-topping success, three Grammy Award nominations, and collaborations with some of blues music's most iconic performers.

With Time Out Chicago praising the artist as a musician who "excels at morphing the smallest of melodic chunks into grandiose statements of purpose," singer/songwriter Dick Prall – performing under his stage moniker Dickie – headlines a November 6 concert at the Redstone Room in Davenport venue Common Chord, the Iowa sensation's most recent album Minus Thieves lauded by Music Existence as being "full of supremely crafted and masterfully executed tunes."

With Pitchfork lauding the group's 2020 Forever Just Beyond as an album that "feels both charmingly at ease and refreshingly ambitious," the alt-country/indie-rock outfit Clem Snide headlines a November 9 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, with frontman Eef Barzelay touring in support of two 2021 releases: the extended-edition album Beyond Forever Just Beyond and the EP Smothered & Covered Vo. I, a collection of covers of Bob Dylan, Lauren Hill, Journey, Cat Stevens, and other music icons.

Inviting music fans to explore complex layers of the human experience and enjoy an intimate evening full of magic and feeling, Davenport venue Common Chord will host a November 4 Songs & Stories concert event featuring Alicia Michilli, Angela Meyer, and David G. Smith, this singer/songwriter series designed to transport listeners into the mind of artists as they guide the audience through the emotional atmospheres that shape their sounds.

A 1957 film classic currently ranked by Internet Movie Database voters as the fifth-greatest movie of all time, Sidney Lumet's riveting 12 Angry Men will be given a fresh spin at Moline's Playcrafters Barn Theatre from November 4 through 13, with 12 Angry Jurors delivering a gender-blended take on a work described by the New York Times as a "taut, absorbing, and compelling drama that reaches far beyond the close confines of its jury-room setting."
