On March 7, area art lovers are invited to celebrate the recent opening of the 43rd Rock Island Art Guild Fine Arts Exhibition at Davenport's Figge Art Museum alongside some of the exhibition's featured regional artists, with guests able to share in the excitement as this year's prize winners are announced.

Lauded by the Alliance of Women Journalists as a "must-see" that is "fascinating and eye-opening," director Matthew Mishory's Who Are the Marcuses? enjoys a March 3 screening at Davenport's Figge Art Museum as the sixth and final presentation in River Action's 2024 QC Environmental Film Series, this special showing hosted by the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities described by the Jewish Journal as "a story about wealth, generosity, innovation, and Israeli pragmatism."

One of the area's most eagerly anticipated sales events returns to Rock Island's QCCA Expo Center March 1 through 3, as Melting Pot Productions, Inc. presents this year's pre-spring 2024 Antique Spectacular Vintage Market Quad Cities, allowing hunters of vintage goods an all-weekend opportunity to shop for a wide range of quality antiques.

With special attention paid to Roddewig Schmidt Candy Company, Velma Chocolates, and other former Quad Cities institutions, Davenport's German American Heritage Center will, through May 19, explore different candy manufacturers in our area in the exhibition Sweet Treats: German Influence on the QC Candy Industry, demonstrating how the Quad Cities were once home to numerous candy manufacturers of German heritage popular both locally and regionally.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the off-Broadway sensation, the nationally touring comedy Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus Live! lands at Davenport's Adler Theatre on March 7, with the show's original writer Eric Cable and director Mindy Cooper back to inject new life into the script, ensuring its relevance and resonance with audiences on 2024.

An eagerly awaited tradition featuring dozens of recent and debuting works in a variety of artistic mediums, the 43rd edition of the Rock Island Art Guild Fine Arts Exhibition will be on display at the Figge Art Museum through June 2, with the Davenport venue housing 62 works - paintings, sculptures, installations, and more - by 42 artists living within a 200-mile radius of the Quad Cities.

The winners of a Country Music Association Award, three CMT Country Music Awards, and an Academy of Country Music Award citation for Vocal Group of the Year, the chart-topping touring artists of Sawyer Brown headline a February 24 concert at Davenport's Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center, the group's 43 years of performance boasting such career highlights as a Star Search championship win and three number-one singles on the Billboard Hot County Songs chart.

With his singles "Yours," "Blue Tacoma," "Every Little Thing," and "Love You Like I Used To" all hitting Billboard's Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, Russell Dickerson headlines a February 24 concert at East Moline venue The Rust Belt, the artist's most recent, self-titled album lauded by Country Swag as a work in which Dickerson “continues to shine as one of Nashville's most talented singer/songwriters, stretching himself lyrically, musically, and vocally while remaining abundantly true to himself.”

Traveling the country in support of their most recent recording Okemah Rising, which Blabbermouth deemed “imaginative and unique” and Punktastic hailed as “an excellent acoustic album,” the Boston-based rockers of Dropkick Murphys bring their “St. Patrick's Day Tour 2024” to East Moline venue The Rust Belt on February 25, the group's latest release also lauded by Top Shelf Music as “a testament to the band's creativity and talent.”

Performing in support of their 2022 split EP with The Rumjacks that spawned the hit singles "Mud" and "Sorry". the Chicago-based Celtic-punk musicians of Flatfoot 56 return to the Quad Cities on February 23, their engagement at the Raccoon Motel sure to fill the Davenport venue with what IndieVision Music called “their rambunctious style that their fans have come to love.”
