With Uproxx calling their most recent album a showcase for “some of the band's most intense and driving music to date” and Pitchfork deeming it their “most expansive statement yet,” the critically lauded rockers of Protomartyr play Davenport's Raccoon Motel on November 10 in support of their 2020 release Ultimate Success Today, a recording that inspired NPR to rave of the musicians, “I don't think they needed to level up, but boy, did they.”

Works in a trio of disparate artistic mediums, by a trio of Illinois talents, will be on display at the Quad City Arts International Airport Gallery through January 3, with the Moline airport showcasing ceramic sculpture by Rock Island's Lori Roderick, collagraph prints by Carbondale's Luca Cruzat, and acrylic paintings by Glenville's Elise Boughner.

Presented by Kevin Braafladt, the Army Sustainment Command Deputy Historian at the Rock Island Arsenal, as well as the the Army Sustainment Command History Office, the November 10 presentation World War I History: The Armistice & the Occupation of Germany invites Rock Island and Davenport Public Library patrons to a discussion of the Armistice and the occupation of Germany, allowing them to also delve deeper into First World War history by learning about Quad Cities and Rock Island Arsenal historical ties.

Delivering a thrilling repertoire of compositions inspired by poetry and literature, the Quad City Symphony Orchestra continues its Masterworks season with the musicians' second showcase for 2021-22: Fantasies & Fables, November 6 and 7 presentations held at the Adler Theatre and Augustana College's Centennial Hall that will be highlighted by renditions of Frederick's Fables narrated by esteemed poet, author, and performance artist Shellie Moore Guy.

With Pitchfork magazine praising his most recent solo album Beast Epic as one in which its artist “never sounded more in control” and performs “some of the best singing of his career,” lauded folk-rock musician Sam Beam – better known by his professional moniker Iron & Wine – plays Davenport's Raccoon Motel on November 6, the artist's 2017 solo recording extolled by The Quietus as “a long, warm, healing embrace.”

Lauded by The Stage as “authentic and exciting” and by BBC Scotland as “simply incredible,” the touring sensation The Simon & Garfunkel Story lands at Davenport's Adler Theatre on November 7, with singers Taylor Bloom and Benjamin Cooley and their live band delivering pop/folk favorites in a stage experience that Theatre Weekly calls “as close to the real thing as we're going to get.”

With his career thus far boasting five studio albums, three ACM Awards, and eight number-one smashes on Billboard's U.S. Country Airplay chart, Nashville-based singer/songwriter and guitarist Lee Brice brings his national tour to Moline's TaxSlayer Center on November 4, the artist beloved for both his solo country repertoire and his songwriting for talents including Garth Brooks, Adam Gregory, and Tim McGraw.

Exploring popular and beloved Western entertainments ranging from Red River to Wagon Train to Pale Rider to Lonesome Dove, the November 3 program Cowboy Courage: Westerns & the Portrayal of Bravery will feature author and Black Hawk College professor William Hampes discussing themes of justice, redemption, and more in a special in-person/virtual lecture hosted by the Davenport Public Library's Eastern Avenue branch.

In the first of two virtual Sunday-afternoon programs hosted by Davenport's German American Heritage Center and Figge Art Museum, painting conservator and art historian Barry Bauman will lead the Zoom discussion The Conservation of Paintings: Historical & Technical Discoveries, a November 7 presentation in which participants can share in the joy of Bauman's most remarkable discoveries including lost signatures, hidden dates, and entire paintings hidden beneath other works.

The recipient of an Honorary Doctorate in Art and Philosophy from the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the visual arts, painter and printmaker Curlee R. Holton and his estimable works will be showcased in a virtual artist talk hosted by the Figge Art Museum, the November 4 event held in conjunction with the Davenport venue's current exhibition Robert Blackburn & Modern American Printmaking.
