DES MOINES, IOWA (June 7, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation today for Fremont County in response to severe weather beginning May 17 and continuing.

The governor's proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather and activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents, along with the Disaster Case Management Program, for Fremont County.

DES MOINES, IA (June 6, 2019) — State Treasurer Michael L Fitzgerald was pleased to present a check for several thousand dollars from the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt to the Central Iowa Region American Red Cross on Thursday. "The Great Iowa Treasure Hunt is proud to reunite the American Red Cross $12,300 in lost funds," Fitzgerald said. "This past winter and spring, we have seen one disaster after another across Iowa. The American Red Cross has been there to help Iowans along the way.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 6, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds experienced chest-pain earlier today, and out of an abundance of caution went to the emergency-room to seek medical-care. The governor was seen by a physician. Her blood tests, chest x-rays, and electrocardiogram (EKG) test were all normal. She has been released from the hospital and is back working at the Capitol.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 6, 2019) — The Scandinavian countries are dropping into Rock Island on Saturday, June 22, at First Lutheran Church's Folk Arts Festival.

The festival will embody culture from the Scandinavian region and other countries from the food, music, art, and traditions.
