Pavement and sewer improvements on E Locust St between Kenwood Ave and Eastmere Dr are anticipated to begin on Monday, April 30th. Work will begin with stormwater and sanitary sewer improvements, followed by removal and replacement of the asphalt overlay. At least one lane of travel in each direction on E Locust will be maintained at all times during construction. Side streets along this stretch will be closed at Locust for the entirety of the project.

At the Round Earth’s Imagined Corners

Mount Pleasant, Iowa: April 25, 2018 – Over 60 voices will be raised in the presentation of Iowa Wesleyan’s Spring Concert At the Round Earth’s Imagined Corners. The Iowa Wesleyan University Choir, Primae Voces and The Mount Pleasant Chorale will perform on Sunday, April 29, in University Chapel.  The performance begins at 7 pm.

On April 25 th 2018 at approximately 9:35 am a disturbance was reported outside of the front main entrance to the Scott County Courthouse. Two bailiffs from within the courthouse and a Davenport Police Officer responded. Upon arrival they encountered a subject carrying a blunt object. The situation escalated and in the process a less lethal device and a firearm were discharged by bailiffs.

But according to Tim Lane, President of the Bettendorf Rotary Club, the event has a unique aspect that is rarely discussed. “What many people do not realize about Lobsterfest’s proceeds,” Lane said, “is that 100 percent goes back to the community.”
The Quad Cities River Bandits, in conjunction with the Houston Astros, have announced the following changes to their roster on Wednesday.  Infielder Colton Shaver transferred from extended spring training to Quad Cities.  Infielder Roman Garcia has been placed on the 7-day disabled list.
