DES MOINES, IOWA (December 5, 2022) — State Auditor Rob Sand today issued an advisory alerting Iowans to a potential phone scam in which the caller identifies themselves as a representative of the Iowa Auditor of State Office (AOS).

A concerned citizen notified the AOS Office on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, that they had received a phone call from a person inquiring about their mortgage. The caller also stated that they knew the concerned citizen’s name, address, and height.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (December 5, 2022) — The Quad Cities Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance) Committee announces a call for entries for the "Ida Kramer Children and the Holocaust Essay Contest" and the "Meyer and Frances Shnurman Holocaust Visual Arts Contest" which are open to all Quad City Area students in grades six through twelve. The deadline for entries is March 1, 2023.

BETENDORF, IOWA (December 1, 2022) — The Quad City Engineering and Science Council (QCESC) is seeking volunteers to support students competing at the upcoming FIRST LEGO League robotics qualifying event on Saturday, December 3, at The Rust Belt in East Moline. Approximately 150 students ages nine to fourteen from 22 Illinois teams built robots and prepared presentations to compete for awards and a chance to advance to next level competitions.
