DES MOINES, IOWA (July 15, 2019) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announces Iowans set a record for most new-business filings in a single year, for the fourth year in a row. During Fiscal Year 2019, which concluded on June 30, 24,720 new businesses filed with the Secretary of State’s Office. That is a 4.5% increase from last year’s record high of 23,649.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 28, 2019) — Iowa Workforce Development announced an increase to maximum weekly benefits paid to unemployed Iowans and to workers injured on the job. The new benefit payment schedules apply to people who file new unemployment insurance claims on or after July 7, 2019, and to workers injured on or after July 1, 2019.
