GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (October 21, 2025) — During the Homecoming Convocation, Knox honored a trio of alumni. The College presented three awards recognizing extraordinary service, professional excellence, and emerging leadership within the Knox community.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (October 17, 2025) — As part of Homecoming weekend festivities at Monmouth College, 2015 graduate Mariela Shaker will be formally announced as the recipient of her alma mater's Distinguished Young Alumnus Award.

The London-based Shaker will not be present to accept the honor, but just a few days later, her husband, Riyad Nicolas, one of the world's leading pianists, will perform a recital on Monmouth's campus.

HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA (October 17, 2025) — Marshall University has announced that Neighborgall Construction Company has been awarded the winning bid for construction of the Marshall University Institute for Cyber Security (ICS), a $45 million facility that will focus on training the next generation of cyber-professionals.

Construction is set to begin immediately.

WAVERLY, IOWA (October 17, 2025) — Charlie Zimmerman has been accepted into the Wartburg College Teacher Education Program.

Zimmerman, of Bettendorf, Iowa, had to demonstrate effective reflective components in teaching and complete several other requirements to be considered for the program.

Admission to the Teacher Education Program allows students to begin professional-education courses in their field.
