IOWA CITY, IOWA (May 6, 2024) — Twenty students at the Univesity of Iowa will either deliver a speech to their classmates or perform the national anthem at one of the commencement events scheduled on campus in the coming weeks. More than 5,300 students will receive their degrees during in-person and livestreamed commencement ceremonies, beginning with the College of Pharmacy's Doctor of Pharmacy ceremony on May 9 and concluding with the College of Dentistry's ceremony on May 31.

WESTMINSTER, MARYLAND (May 6, 2024) — Michael Cumberbatch of Davenport, Iowa (52807), has enrolled at McDaniel College as a transfer student. This list includes students who have deposited as of May 3, 2024.

Cumberbatch is a transfer student and plans to study Biomedical Science.

SEWARD, NEBRASKA (May 6, 2024) — On May 4, Concordia University, Nebraska awarded undergraduate and graduate degrees to more than 475 graduates. The class of 2024 was honored during an undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremony.

BATON ROUGE, LOUSISANA (May 6, 2024) — Emily Danger of Hampton, Illinois, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Danger was initiated at Arkansas State University.

WAVERLY, IOWA (May 3, 2024) — Rachel Green of DeWitt, Iowa, was recognized at the Iowa Broadcast News Association (IBNA)'s annual conference in April.

Green who received third place in Public Affairs.

AJ Furness ('24) will play a major role in the Monmouth College Jazz Ensemble's concert May 7, and she'll also present a voice recital May 4 and sing May 5 in the spring choral concert

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (April 30, 2024) In 1969, a young Stevie Wonder performed at Monmouth College. On May 7, Wonder's music will return to campus — although not the artist himself — as part of the Jazz Ensemble's semester-ending concert, titled "A Jazz Spring."

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 30, 2024) — Augustana College's John Deere Planetarium will be open to the public on Saturday night, May 11, for the annual Spring Open House for an evening of stargazing and space shows.

The planetarium, located at 820 38th St, will be open 8:30-10PM, with indoor and outdoor programs led by planetarium director Dr Lee Carkner. Admission is free.
