General Assembly should swiftly move cleanup

SPRINGFIELD (Jan. 26, 2018) — A compromise negotiated this week has paved the way for more Illinois schools to participate in the Invest in Kids scholarship tax-credit program, Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner announced today. The move leaves the General Assembly clear to act swiftly to fully implement the requested cleanups to the state’s historic funding law.

The signature project provides students with a unique history resource; will be offered to schools statewide.

CHICAGO (Jan. 26, 2018) — Gov. Bruce Rauner released the first copies of “Illinois Chronicles,” the K-12 Bicentennial educational resource that will be offered to schools all across the state.

Three individual $1,000 scholarships will be awarded by the D.A.R.E. Scholarship Fund to a graduating senior based on academic merit, good citizenship, attendance, active involvement in school and the community. The funds will be paid directly to the recipient's educational institution.
