MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (September 18, 2024) — An award-winning history professor from Rutgers University will help Monmouth College kick off a series of events funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Earlier this year, Monmouth College received a $149,965 grant from the NEH to fund a three-year history project about west central Illinois, titled "Resituating the Humanities in Place-Based Learning."

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 18, 2024) — St Ambrose University is excited to announce its participation in Common App’s Direct Admissions program for 2024-2025. St Ambrose, located in Davenport, Iowa, is the first higher education institution in the state to join the innovative nationwide program. The initiative is designed to give more than 400,000 first-generation and low-income students, who are interested in college, access to a valuable degree through proactive admissions offers.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (September 18, 2024) — Robert Gallagher, from Bettendorf, Iowa, was one of the 31 students from the Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program, class of 2025, inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. The induction ceremony, held on June 4, 2024, also featured a keynote address by retiring faculty member, Paul Volker MD, who was also inducted into the society.

WHITEWATER, WISCONSIN (September 13, 2024) — Logan Braun, from Rock Island, Illinois, who is studying Legal Studies, has been named a Resident Assistant (RA) at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for the 2024-25 academic year.

RAs are part-time student staff members who live in the residence halls with students, serve as a resource and positive role model, and help build a sense of community by hosting floor events.
