MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (October 16, 2024) — Fall is in the air, and three Monmouth College choral groups will celebrate that October 19 when they present their annual fall concert.

Under the direction of music professor Tim Pahel (above), the Chorale and the Chamber Choir will be part of the event, which will be held at 7:30PM in the Kasch Performance Hall of Dahl Chapel and Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 16, 2024) — Fifteen Iowa community-college presidents met Wednesday, September 25, in Des Moines to approve the Iowa Private Transfer Guarantee admission agreement with the Iowa Private Transfer Collaborative that aims to streamline the transfer process for Iowa community college and qualifying* high-school students to private four-year institutions.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (October 15, 2024) — Des Moines University (DMU) Medicine and Health Sciences has been awarded the Transformational Project Award from the American Heart Association to study the effects of estrogen on exercise.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (October 15, 2024) — Dag Blanck, director of Augustana College’s Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center and honorary professor of Swedish-American studies, will present a lecture titled “Trump and Harris from Abroad: How the American Election is seen in Sweden,” at 4PM, Wednesday, October 30.

WHITEWATER, WI (October 14, 2024) — Hannah Gault from Moline, Illinois, who is studying Elementary-Middle Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, has earned a roster spot on the Warhawk women's swimming and diving team for the 2024-25 season.

The Warhawks finished fifth at last year's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

UW-Whitewater is coached by Elise Knoche, who enters her seventh season at the helm of the program.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (October 9, 2024) — Rachel Mansk, a student in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program at Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences, recently completed a remote, eight-week research internship with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The project, offered through DMU's Department of Global Health, centered on understanding the effects of climate change on maternal health outcomes.
