Starting Wednesday, May 2 the right northbound lane of Division Street just north of 4th Street, and the right westbound lane of 4th Street at Division will be closed for stormwater intake and pipe repairs.  The work is estimated to be completed by Wednesday, May 9.  Travel delays are possible.

Across rural Iowa, folks who live away from urban centers often have struggles getting assistance from Emergency Medical Services (EMS) when an emergency occurs. Patients in rural areas have the same acute and chronic medical conditions requiring an emergency response as those in urban areas do, however many rural EMS agencies face unique challenges in delivering quality care. Additionally, rural EMS agencies may be the closest, or even the only healthcare provider for these areas.

WASHINGTON – Current and former law enforcement leaders from around the United States today called on Congress and the White House to pass the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act. SPRINGFIELD – The annual Illinois Peace Officers Memorial Service to honor law enforcement officers killed in Illinois in the line of duty, including six who died in 2017, will be held Thursday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at the Illinois Peace Officer Memorial sculpture on the Illinois State Capitol grounds in Springfield.

Out of an initial field of 27 candidates, three semifinalists will interview for the position of Davenport Fire Chief next week. The semi -finalists include one internal candidate and two fire service chiefs from the Midwest.    
In alphabetical order, the semi-finalists are:
Michael Carlsten District Chief, Davenport, Iowa Fire  
Donald Kaderabek Deputy Chief, Bloomingdale, Illinois Fire  

Pavement and sewer improvements on E Locust St between Kenwood Ave and Eastmere Dr are anticipated to begin on Monday, April 30th. Work will begin with stormwater and sanitary sewer improvements, followed by removal and replacement of the asphalt overlay. At least one lane of travel in each direction on E Locust will be maintained at all times during construction. Side streets along this stretch will be closed at Locust for the entirety of the project.

Division Street Closure Between Florence & Lombard

Beginning Wednesday, April 18th, Division St will be closed between Florence and Lombard for an emergency sewer lateral repair. It is estimated work will be complete on or by Monday, April 23rd.Motorists are advised to follow signed detour. A detour map is not available at this time.
