DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 14, 2023) — The City of Davenport has opened the fifth round of funding for the popular Davenport DREAM Project. Applications will be accepted August 14, 2023–September 1, 2023. Residents can be eligible for a grant of approximately $20,000 to make exterior improvements to their property.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 14, 2023) — On Sunday August 13, 2023, at approximately 12:18AM, the Davenport Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire in the 2800 block of Harrison Street. Three engines, two ladder trucks, and one command car with sixteen personnel responded to this incident. This residence was a two-story side by side duplex. The fire was reported by the adjacent occupants of the duplex.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 8, 2023) — The Davenport Fire Department has received a $600,000 Port Security Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). With the City’s $200,000 contribution, this funding will be used to replace DFD’s current large fireboat stationed at the boathouse with a more capable and safer one.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 10, 2023) — The City of Davenport is pleased to announce details of another project in the community funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The Fairmount Community Center, located adjacent to the Davenport Public Library Fairmount branch, will have its groundbreaking ceremony on July 11, 2023, 3PM. Construction is expected to take nine to twelve months.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (July 3, 2023) — The Independence Day holiday ushers in an era of independence from fines at the Moline Public Library. Beginning Wednesday, July 5, the Library will stop fining for most overdue items. By eliminating late fees, the Moline Public Library joins a larger movement among libraries to ensure free, inclusive, and equitable service for everyone.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 15, 2023) — The Federal Railroad Administration has announced $7.8 million in grant funding awarded to the City of Davenport through the Railroad Crossing Elimination Grant Program for the design and construction of an overpass and elevated roadway on South Concord Street near West River Drive. The program provides funding for highway-rail or pathway-rail grade crossing improvement projects that focus on improving the safety and mobility of people and goods.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (June 6, 2023) — The Quad Cities Chamber is partnering with Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) and Iowa Economic Development Authority to complete a Laborshed employment study for the Quad Cities area. This study will geographically define which communities contribute to the Quad Cities’ workforce, regardless of political boundaries. This defined area is called a Laborshed area and is based upon commuting patterns.
