PRINCETON, IOWA (April 7, 2023) — The City Princeton is celebrating National Volunteer Month on Thursday, April 13th by recognizing volunteers who dedicate time, energy, and resources to make Princeton a great place to live at their regular City Council meeting at 6PM.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 6, 2023) — State Auditor Rob Sand today urged leaders in Iowa’s rural communities to apply for funding from the Energy Improvements in Rural or Remote Areas (ERA) program. The program is designed to provide financial investment, technical assistance, and other resources to advance clean energy in communities with fewer than 10,000 people.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 29, 2023) — On February 13, 2023, the Rock Island City Council approved an agreement for the Quad Cities Chamber to manage the City’s downtown special service area (SSA) and provide place management services through the creation of the Rock Island Downtown Alliance (Downtown Alliance or RIDA). DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 6, 2023) — At approximately 0841 hours, Scott Emergency Communications Center (SECC) received a report of an accident with injuries at 110th Ave and 130th St. The intersection is located in western Scott County. Reports indicated the accident was between and school bus and a semi.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 27, 2023) — In partnership with the Davenport Civil Rights Commission, The Library is hosting a program “Black History: The Fight For Civil Rights in Davenport” on Thursday, February 2, 6:30PM, Fairmount.

Did you know that Dred Scott lived in the Quad Cities? Learn more about local, historical black citizens from Davenport and the Quad Cities. This program will be presented by the Davenport Civil Rights Commission.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 27, 2023) — The Scott County Board of Supervisors Vacancy Committee (Committee) met yesterday and unanimously appointed Davenport resident, Rita Rawson. The Committee included Auditor Kerri Tompkins, Treasurer Tony Knobbe and Recorder Rita Vargas. There was an application process that began on January 5 and concluded on January 24. This process garnered 27 very strong and well-qualified applicants.

DAVENORT, IOWA (December 30, 2022) — On Thursday, December 29, 2022, at approximately 2:12PM, the Scott Emergency Communication Center received a call of a single-vehicle accident in the area of mile-marker 302 on I-80 East. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene, and an investigation was conducted.

ELDRIDGE, IOWA (December 30, 2022) On Thursday, December 29, 2022, at approximately 1:17PM, Officers from the Eldridge Police Department along with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Eldridge Fire Department and MEDIC EMS were dispatched to Kings Material Inc located at 3800 South 1st Street, Eldridge.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (December 20, 2022) — Waste Commission of Scott County facilities will close at noon Friday, December 23, and will remain closed through Monday, December 26. Facilities will reopen on Tuesday, December 27.

The Landfill will be open normal hours on Saturday, December 31. Facilities will be closed Monday, January 2, in observance of New Year’s Day. All facilities will reopen Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
