Community Child Care Solutions Fund Letter of Interest Submission Deadline: August 1, 2019

QUAD CITIES (July 3, 2019) — The Iowa Women’s Foundation (IWF) is currently accepting Letters of Interest (LOI) for the Community Child Care Solutions Fund (CCCSF). This fund is in its 3rd year and is designated to improving the lives of Iowa’s women and girls through efforts directly related to creating solutions to the child care crisis.

City of Davenport offices and the Public Works Center will be closed.

Police Department front desk and records office will be closed.

Parks and Recreation administrative offices and River’s Edge facility will be closed.

Adler Theatre box office will be closed.

Flood Debris Clean Up-Unincorporated Scott County

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 17, 2019) — Scott County Secondary Roads and Scott County Conservation, in partnership with the Waste Commission of Scott County, will be assisting residents of unincorporated Scott County impacted by the recent Mississippi River and Wapsipinicon River flooding with flood debris collection. Collection will begin on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 and proceed through the county as outlined below.

State Assistance Available for Residents of Scott County Impacted by Recent Storms and Flash Flooding

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 30, 2019) — The State of Iowa has announced that individuals in Scott County impacted by the severe weather (heavy rains, hail, wind-damage, and flash-flooding) beginning May 17, 2019 and on-going, may be eligible for assistance from the State of Iowa through The Iowa Assistance Grant Program and The Disaster Case Management Program.

May 29 Flood Assistance Center Date to be Postponed Due to Flooding

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 28, 2019) — The Flood Assistance Center event scheduled for Wednesday, May 29, 2019. at the former Office Max building near Northpark Mall is being postponed due to rising flood-waters and response needed by participating agencies. This event will be rescheduled at a later date.

Recent and Potential Rain Continues to Push Mississippi River Higher

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 24, 2019) — The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities is reporting that the continued rainfall, saturated ground-conditions, and the potential for several rounds of thunderstorms over the weekend, will lead to rising river levels. The Mississippi River is continuing to rise and potentially increase to a level between 20.5 feet and 23 feet at the Rock Island location as soon as May 31 (see second link below). As a result of this information:

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 30, 2019) — The next meeting of the Quad Cities Flood Resiliency Alliance will be held on May 30, 2019 at 1:30PM in the City Hall Community Room in Riverdale, Iowa. The Alliance is open to the public and is a forum for timely and educational information on flood-prevention, mitigation, flood-insurance, and flood-plain management.
