(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds signed the following nine bills into law on Monday:

On April 11, 2018 the Scott County Sheriffs Office responded to a fatality accident at the intersection of 240th Avenue and 290th Street south of McCausland. The deceased driver of the vehicle has been identified as Chad Alan Soenksen, 42, of Clinton, Iowa. Soenksen was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic Ambulance.

A prime example of the Prairie School style of architecture made famous by Frank Llyod Wright, the Moline Commercial Club ©1912 is the only building built for the public in this style in our region.  The famous area architect, H.W. Whitsett, designed it for 6 stories. 3 stories were built in 1912.

The building had been built to house the commercial club started by Charles Deere, son of John Deere, in 1895.

All City of Davenport offices & Public Works Center will be closed. Police Department front desk and records office will be closed. Library Main, Fairmount and Eastern branches will be closed. Parks & Recreation administrative offices will be closed. River’s Edge will be open from 7am – 9:30pm, front desk will be open from 7am – 7pm. Public skate is offered from 11am – 1p and 6pm – 8pm. Vander Veer Conservatory will be open from 10am – 4pm. The conservatory will also be open Easter

The following notice is from Public Works.  Starting today, Monday, March 19, the right northbound lane of Brady St will be closed between River Drive and 2nd Street, and 2nd St heading east from Main to Brady will be reduced to one lane of traffic.

Loans Modernize Infrastructure and Spur Business Growth in 12 States

Community Planning staff have asked me to remind you about the neighborhood meeting for the Rockingham Road Corridor Zoning Enhancements.  It is set for 6PM at the Roosevelt Community Center, tomorrow, Thursday, March 15.  Property owners, neighbors and other stakeholders are invited to attend a discussion of zoning regulations designed to enhance the Rockingham Road corridor.

Four delegates from Carlow County, Ireland will visit Davenport March 14-20 to learn from city leaders and citizens as well as sharing best practices and resources from their communities. The Carlow delegation include:
