(Quad Cities, IA/IL) Each year, the Jaycees of the Quad Cities honors local community members who are making a positive impact in our area. This year, the annual Jaycees Community Awards Banquet will be held at the Jaycees Hall at 2940 Brady St. in Davenport beginning at 5:30pm. The banquet will feature a cocktail hour at 5:30pm with musical entertainment, and dinner and awards set to start at 6:30pm.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered all state flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff effective immediately until sunset on Monday, February 19, 2018, to honor the murdered and injured in Wednesday’s tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The governor’s order is issued in conjunction with President Donald Trump’s order to lower all United States flags to half-staff for the same length of time.

SPRINGFIELD (Feb. 6, 2018) — A new Quincy Veterans’ Home Water Management Task Force will meet next week to review a plumbing assessment report that were released today, Gov. Bruce Rauner said.

The governor created the task force after living at the home for a week in January.

WASHINGTON – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that it is seeking applicants for the Youth Preparedness Council, which brings together teens from across the country who are interested and engaged in community preparedness. Council members are selected based on their dedication to public service, their efforts in making a difference in their communities, and their potential to expand their impact as national leaders for preparedness.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack will have a member of his staff in Clinton and Scott Counties for open office hours. Jared Mullendore, Loebsack’s District Representative, will be at the following locations.
