Jaycees to Honor Community Members at Annual Banquet

(Quad Cities, IA/IL) Each year, the Jaycees of the Quad Cities honors local community members who are making a positive impact in our area. This year, the annual Jaycees Community Awards Banquet will be held at the Jaycees Hall at 2940 Brady St. in Davenport beginning at 5:30pm. The banquet will feature a cocktail hour at 5:30pm with musical entertainment, and dinner and awards set to start at 6:30pm.

Gov. Reynolds orders state flags at half-staff to honor school shooting victims

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered all state flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff effective immediately until sunset on Monday, February 19, 2018, to honor the murdered and injured in Wednesday’s tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The governor’s order is issued in conjunction with President Donald Trump’s order to lower all United States flags to half-staff for the same length of time.

Rauner orders flags to be lowered in honor of fallen Police Commander

Flags to fly at Half-Staff from Sunrise, Feb. 15 until Sunset Feb. 18.

SPRINGFIELD (Feb. 14, 2018) — Gov. Bruce Rauner has directed all entities governed by the Illinois Flag Display Act to fly both the United States and Illinois state flags at half-staff in remembrance of Chicago Police Commander Paul R. Bauer.

President's Day 2018 Observance

City of Davenport will observe Presidents’ Day as a holiday on Monday, February 19, 2018.

All City of Davenport offices & the Public Works Center will be closed.

Police Department front desk and records office will be closed.

Library Main, Fairmount and Eastern branches will be closed.

River’s Edge facility will be open.

Vander Veer Conservatory will be closed.

Snow Removal Tonight in Downtown Davenport

Due to the need to clear parking lanes across downtown, a snow removal is taking place tonight. No parking will be allowed on streets from 02/12/18 10:00 pm to 02/13/18 6:00 am. Please be aware all vehicles parked on Posted Snow Routes in the Downtown and Hilltop will be ticketed and towed if left in a snow route during this time. All three parking ramps will be available for FREE during this time.

Quincy Water Management Task Force to review plumbing assessment, make recommendations

SPRINGFIELD (Feb. 6, 2018) — A new Quincy Veterans’ Home Water Management Task Force will meet next week to review a plumbing assessment report that were released today, Gov. Bruce Rauner said.

The governor created the task force after living at the home for a week in January.

Jared Mullendore, Loebsack’s District Representative, will be at the following locations. Mullendore will be on hand to work with individuals who are having difficulty with a government agency, have suggestions for Dave, or would just like to share their concerns. Members of the public are invited to attend.
