(DES MOINES) – In cooperation with Gov. Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, 19 Soldiers, two CH-47F Chinook helicopters, and two LUH-72 Lakota helicopters from the Iowa Army National Guard will deploy on Sept. 11 to support response operations for Hurricane Irma.

The team is comprised as follows:

-Company A, 1st Battalion, 376th Aviation Security and Support (Waterloo);

PEORIA, IL (09/08/2017) (readMedia)-- As Hurricane Irma bears toward South Carolina, the Illinois National Guard is sending communications equipment and personnel to McEntire Joint National Guard base, Columbia, South Carolina, in preparation for Hurricane Irma Response. The 182nd Airlift Wing's Mobile Emergency Operations Center, or MEOC, will help provide local jurisdictions and other government stakeholders a modern quick response interoperable communications platform.

At 10:30 a.m., Sept. 7, two C-130 cargo planes and 14 personnel from the 182nd Airlift Wing based in Peoria, Illinois, took off to support relief and response efforts in the wake of Irma.
