(DES MOINES) – On Wednesday, Lt. Gov. Reynolds will join officials from CVS Health to announce that Naloxone is now available without a prescription at all CVS Pharmacy locations in Iowa.  Lt. Gov. Reynolds will be joined by Director of Public Health, Gerd Clabaugh and Director of the Governor’s Office on Drug Control Policy, Steve Lukan.   Naloxone is a drug that can reverse an opioid overdose.

DAVENPORT — Starting this fall, registered nurses can earn a St. Ambrose Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree entirely on their own schedule.

The SAU Nursing Department will offer the RN-to-BSN degree program fully online. The 27-credit hour program will be taught on an accelerated, eight-week class schedule and can be completed in as few 15 months.

Blood donations essential to patient care

MADISON, Wis. (March 22, 2017) — The American Red Cross is issuing a call for type O negative and AB blood donors to make an appointment to give after severe winter weather in some parts of the country caused about 250 Red Cross blood drives to cancel in March, resulting in more than 8,500 uncollected blood donations.

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), and Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), today reintroduced legislation to make hearing aids for those with mild to moderate hearing loss available over the counter (OTC). A companion bill led by Representatives Joe Kennedy III (D-Mass.) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) was also introduced in the House.

A local marathon runner and East Moline teacher, who has been living with multiple sclerosis since 2011, has been chosen as this year's ambassador for the annual MS Walk April 22nd.
