On June 14 — "Flag Day" in the United States — US Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) and US Representative Steve Womack (R-AR) proposed a constitutional amendment: "The Congress shall have power to prohibit the physical desecration of the flag of the United States." President Donald Trump promptly indicated his support for the amendment via Twitter, calling it a "no-brainer."

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 17, 2019) — The Midwest Writing Center’s publishing arm, MWC Press, has teamed up with local publisher, 918studio press, and its imprint, Legacy Book Press, for two book-writing contests. The winner of the memoir contest and two winners of the youth-book contest will win a publishing package, which includes book copies and a launch party.

WASHINGTON DC (June 17, 2019) — ChamberofCommerce.org recently released the 2019 report detailing the best cities to live in for each state. The comprehensive analysis behind this report looks at cities with populations over 25,000 and covers five essential factors: employment, housing, quality-of-life, education, and health. In total, over 2,500 cities were examined and given rankings on a per-state basis.

Come celebrate 50 years of Sesame Street by seeing your favorite characters sculpted in butter. Standing alongside the iconic Iowa State Fair butter cow, Sesame Street will come alive in the John Deere Agriculture Building throughout the Iowa State Fair, August 8-18, 2019.
