The United Soccer League (USL) is eyeing Des Moines as a future home of a professional-level USL Championship club. IOWA FALLS, IOWA (September 16, 2019) — The 2019 Responsible Gaming Education Week (RGEW) will be held September 16-20 at each of the 19 state-regulated licensed casinos who comprise the Iowa Gaming Association (IGA). Each location will tailor specific activities to heighten awareness and involve its staff and patrons.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 9, 2019) — The Quad City Storm has added Jake Toporowski to its hockey staff as an assistant coach. Toporowski is the first assistant coach in the history of the franchise.

A native of Bettendorf, Iowa, Toporowski hails from a hockey family and most recently played with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League. He will continue to work as an area scout for his former team.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 6, 2019) — The Cedar Rapids Kernels ended the season of the Quad Cities River Bandits with a 4-2 victory on Friday night at Modern Woodmen Park in the decisive third game of their first round playoff series. The Kernels received one RBI each from four different players in a balanced effort. 

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 5, 2019) — The Cedar Rapids Kernels evened a first-round play-off series with the Quad Cities River Bandits by earning a 2-1 road win on Thursday night at Modern Woodmen Park.  The series will move to a decisive game three on Friday night at 6:35PM. The winner will meet the Clinton LumberKings in the Western Division Championship Series.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (September 4, 2019) — The Quad Cities River Bandits opened the post-season with a 4-1 road win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Wednesday night at Perfect Game Field. Three River Bandits pitchers combined to limit the Kernels to 5 hits while striking out 12. The series moves to Modern Woodmen Park on Thursday night where the Bandits can win the series with a victory.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 2, 2019) — The Quad Cities River Bandits broke out of their offensive doldrums in a big way, defeating the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 10-4 in the final game of the regular season on Monday afternoon. Oscar Campos went 5-5 with a double, home run, and three runs batted in to spark the River Bandits 16-hit attack.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 1, 2019) — Despite finishing with just two hits, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers prevailed with a 4-3 win over the Quad Cities River Bandits on Sunday afternoon at Modern Woodmen Park. Yeison Coca’s two-run single in the third inning proved to be the difference in the ballgame. The River Bandits have lost three straight games and seven of the last eight.
