AMES, IOWA (September 25, 2019) — Adaptive Sports Iowa (ASI) is proud to offer a first-of-its-kind event gathering organizations and individuals from around Iowa for a day of networking, round-table discussions, and guest speakers. The purpose of the Adaptive Sports and Recreation Summit is to provide a venue for sharing, planning, and developing strategies to further engage Iowans with disabilities.

DES MOINES, IOWA (September 18, 2019) — A game-changing opportunity is coming to Central Iowa. The United Soccer League (USL) is eyeing Des Moines as a future home of a professional-level USL Championship club. Kyle Krause, chairman and CEO of Krause Group, and Greg Edwards, president and CEO of Catch Des Moines, hosted USL representatives to make the official announcement at the Krause Gateway Center in downtown Des Moines.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 9, 2019) — The Quad City Storm has added Jake Toporowski to its hockey staff as an assistant coach. Toporowski is the first assistant coach in the history of the franchise.

A native of Bettendorf, Iowa, Toporowski hails from a hockey family and most recently played with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League. He will continue to work as an area scout for his former team.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 5, 2019) — The Cedar Rapids Kernels evened a first-round play-off series with the Quad Cities River Bandits by earning a 2-1 road win on Thursday night at Modern Woodmen Park.  The series will move to a decisive game three on Friday night at 6:35PM. The winner will meet the Clinton LumberKings in the Western Division Championship Series.
