QCArts' High School Art Invitational Winners

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 9, 2019) — In a jam-packed gallery on Thursday, April 4th, Quad City Arts announced the winners of the 42nd Annual High School Art Invitational and presented $6000 in cash prizes to area high school students and teachers for excellence in fine art.  This exhibition is made possible by the William Butterworth Foundation (the major sponsor of the event), The Deere Employees Credit Union, The Morency Family Foundation, Judi & Kent Pilcher, and additional sponsors noted

Meet Hard-Working Hounds at Dogs with Jobs at The Putnam

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 9, 2019) — The Putnam will host "Dogs with Jobs" on Sunday, April 14, from noon to 2PM. The free event will showcase some of the hardest-working hounds in the community.

Professional pups including service and therapy-dogs from the Quad Cities Canine Assistance Network, Quad Cities Dog Obedience Club, and Pawsitive Hearts will show off their incredible skills.

Putnam to Showcase Area Poets, Dancers with Words and Motion on 03/28

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 22, 2019) — The Putnam invites visitors to think and see differently after stirring spoken-word performances and heartfelt dances from local artists during "Words and Motion" on March 28.

Among the talent performing at this event are spoken-word artist Aubrey Barnes and performers with Dat Poetry Lounge who are set to deliver compelling stories to share their insight on race, specifically its impact on them and the world around us.

Have Your Dog Strut the Red Carpet at Putnam’s PawParazzi

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 18, 2019) — Is your pup ready for his or her close-up? At PawParazzi at the Putnam Museum and Science Center on March 23, you and your “best friend” can compete for top-dog status as Mister or Miss Canine QC.

The contest is only $20 to enter and free for spectators. All contestants will be eligible to win prizes. The top prize will be a free one-hour photo session with Francescon Portraiture and $100 portrait credits.

The Putnam Champions Creative Learning Experiences with Explorers Series

DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 18, 2019) — Putnam Explorers and Explorers Jr programs engage kids in interactive learning-experiences based around some of their favorite things — dinosaurs and Star Wars.

Created for students in pre-K through Grade 5, the two-hour long Saturday programs are fun activities packed with learning opportunities. The programs fill up quickly, so pre-registration is required.
