As the new year approaches, registration has opened for the Putnam’s Explorers, a monthly youth enrichment series, which will cover science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) themes, as well as paleontology and anthropology.

The spring semester of the Explorers/Explorers Jr. workshops kick off Jan. 5 with the World Travelers program and continue during the first Saturdays of each month through May 4.

The Putnam once again notched the highest national honor given to museums after earning re-accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums.

Accreditation signifies excellence to governments, funders and to the museum-going public. The Putnam achieved 37 of 37 “Characteristics of Excellence.”

The Figge Art Museum will hold the final Free Family Day of the year on Saturday, November 17. Museum admission will be free all day with scheduled activities from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
