Boho Chic Gallery artists to join Beréskin Gallery and Art Academy

Artists Heidi Brandt and Dee Schricker are joining forces with the Beréskin Gallery. Brandt and Schricker will be closing their Boho Chic Gallery in May. Brandt is moving to the Iowa City area and Schricker has decided to spend more time in her studio and exhibiting at area art fairs. Both hope to expand their sales to the Iowa City market. “We have grown so much as artists during our time at Bucktown.

Mrs. B's School of Art Joins Beréskin Gallery and Art Academy

Pat Bereskin, Mrs. B, was drawn to art at a very young age. She was 4-years-old when she started copying things she saw. As she grew up, she was inspired by the Winky Dink and Captain Kagaroo TV shows along with some of her Bettendorf school teachers. She remembers having a horrible experience in 3rd grade and knew that she could do a better job than the 48-year-old teacher that led the class. She was also inspired by Sarajane Organ Boyd Fellin, an art teacher who loved her job.

Quad City Arts Announces High School Award Winners

In a jam-packed gallery on Thursday, April 5th, Quad City Arts announced the winners of the 41st Annual High School Art Invitational and presented more than $3000 in cash and gift certificates to area high school students and teachers for excellence in fine art.  This exhibition is made possible by the William Butterworth Foundation (the major sponsor of the event), The Deere Employees Credit Union and additional sponsors noted for individual awards.

Speed Painting event at the Muscatine Art Center Cancelled

The Muscatine Art Center is cancelling the portrait painting event this Saturday, March 24, due to the expected winter weather. Please, watch for rescheduling of artist Rose Frantzen painting at a later date.   Faces of Iowa State opened February 15 at the Muscatine Art Center and will be on view through April 15, 2018.
