The Pro Football Hall of Fame exhibit has arrived at the Putnam and so has the chance to see classic football movies each Saturday on the GIANT Screen!
Beginning in the 1930s, at the height of the Great Depression, Iowa State University (ISU) made it a priority to commission and paint portraits. The commemoration of presidents, deans, accomplished faculty and heralded alumni strove to honor the college’s heritage and legacies. This tradition continues today with the active commissioning of portraits by departments and colleges all across ISU and is celebrated through this statewide touring exhibition Faces of Iowa State.
WEST BRANCH, IOWA—Herbert Hoover National Historic Site is hosting a speaker series February 24th, March 3rd and March 17th, all at 2:00 p.m. in the visitor center. A variety of topics will be covered, offering audience members a chance to learn new and fascinating things. All presentations are free and open to the public.
Kimble Bromley, Professor of Art at North Dakota State University, will exhibit his Moby-Dick painting series at the Muscatine Art Center from February 15th through April 12th, 2018. Bromley’s work has been inspired by environments in which he lives and has visited, as well as being influenced by Herman Melville and Moby-Dick.

RUG WEAVING CLASS: Come experience the joy of weaving your very own colorful rag rug on a loom. The class includes designing and preparing materials, weaving and finishing. The rug could be useful in your home or it might make a great gift. This activity will be held in the weaving studio located at the Amana Arts Guild Center in High Amana on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:30 beginning January 25th and continue for 5 sessions. Enrollment is limited.
