A pair of famed commentators and humorists familiar from FOX News, MTV, and the Game Show Network will blend their talents on June 3 when The Laughs & Liberty Tour makes its way to Davenport's Adler Theatre, the night boasting observations and insight from standup comedian and author Jimmy Failla and frequent news panelist and correspondent Kennedy.

Possibly the most famed and beloved artist in the history of comic strips will be celebrated at the Figge Art Museum through September 3 when the Davenport venue houses The Life & Art of Charles M. Schulz, a touring salute to the talent who brightened the world for 50 years with the comedic, and sometimes melancholic, adventures of Charlie Brown, Lucy Van Pelt, Snoopy, and the rest of the lovable Peanuts gang.

While art teachers dedicate their lives to supporting their students as artists, the Figge Art Museum is flipping the script and giving Quad-City area instructors their turn in the spotlight through the Beyond the Classroom exhibition, on display at the Davenport venue through September 3.

Admired for his half-hour comedy special on season three of The Standups that's currently streaming on Netflix, Los Angeles-based comedian Brian Simpson brings his national tour to Davenport's Rhythm City Casino Resort Rhythm Room on May 26, the hilariously uncensored standup having recently made his television debut on Comedy Central's Lights Out with David Spade.

Delivering a blend of local history, environmental issues, education, entertainment, and fresh air, Davenport's River Action will again present a series of outdoor presentations in the first month of the annual Channel Cat Talks and Riverine Walks: weekly programs that, from May 31 through July 1, will address such topics as ferrying, steamboating, birds of prey, infrastructure, and the Quad City River Bandits.

A fascinating, important traveling exhibit examining man-made pollution within our planet's oceans, JUNKraft: The Global Crisis of Plastic Pollution will be on display at Davenport's Putnam Museum & Science Center through October 30, with the exhibition's opening day featuring a Q&A with Dr. Marcus Eriksen, the cofounder and director of research for the 5 Gyres Institute who has firsthand experience on water pollution from more than 20 ocean-crossing expeditions.
