Augustana President Andrea Talentino in July 2022 announces a partnership between the college and the city of Rock Island to identify lead water service-lines

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 22, 2023) — Augustana College student research assistants are assisting with the inventory of water service-lines in the city of Rock Island, Illinois.

ELMHURST, ILLINOIS (June 22, 2023) — Over 925 Elmhurst University students were named to the Spring 2023 Dean's List. The Dean's List is composed of students who during the term concerned, attained a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher (out of a possible 4.00). The following local students were recognized:

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 22, 2023) — Students from Bettendorf, Cedar Rapids, and Nashua-Plainfield schools took top honors at the National History Day Contest last week at the University of Maryland.

Hadley Appel, Kailin Stiles-Pena, and Addison Woelfel of Bettendorf Middle School; Raegan Reicks of Harding Middle School in Cedar Rapids; and Caleb Sinnwell of Nashua-Plainfield Junior/Senior High School medaled in their respective categories.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 22, 2023) — The Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) program has announced the winners of the 2023 Audre Lorde Prize and department awards.

The awards are named in honor of Audre Lorde (1934-1992), an intersectional feminist writer and civil rights activist who wrote the foundational text "Sister Outsider" (1984). Awards are given annually.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 20, 2023) Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg joined the State Historical Society of Iowa Board of Trustees last week to present the annual Excellence in Iowa History Awards during a ceremony at the Lakeview Community Center in Clear Lake.

The awards honor individuals, organizations and communities that make outstanding contributions to the field of Iowa history. The State Historical Society of Iowa is a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.

ADELPHI, MARYLAND (June 20, 2023) — University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) graduated nearly 3,400 students in the 2023 spring semester. Students from all fifty states, four US territories, and 22 countries earned UMGC degrees.
