DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 13, 2023) — Joseph M Roidt PhD, current Provost at Dakota Wesleyan University, has been named the next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) at St Ambrose University. Dr Roidt will succeed Paul Koch PhD, who is retiring at the end of this academic year after serving in the role since 2014.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 13, 2023) — The Augustana Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr James Lambrecht, will perform concerts in Japan in March and April.

The fifty-person ensemble will perform pieces by Yasuhide Ito, Philip Sparke, Julie Giroux, David Maslanka, Frank Ticheli, and John Philip Sousa.

BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS (February 13, 2023) Illinois Wesleyan University's Dean's List for the Fall semester of the 2022-23 academic year consisted of 757 students from 28 states and 28 countries. DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 10, 2023) — St Ambrose University alumna Briana Morales MEd is among thirteen finalists and 490 honorees to be recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) for her significant contribution to education across the state. Receiving the title of 2023 Southwest Regional Teacher of the Year, Morales is the very first teacher from an alternative school to earn the prestigious award.

LORETTO, PENNSYLVANIA (02/10/2023) — Congratulations to Charles Pelsang from Blue Grass, Iowa (52726), for being named to the Dean's List at Saint Francis University. Pelsang, majoring in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, was among 838 students who earned a spot on one of the honors lists (President's and Dean's) for the Fall 2022 semester.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (February 10, 2023) — Coe College has received a $15,350 Institutionalizing Community-Based Pedagogies grant from the Associated Colleges of the Midwest. The grant will support the creation of a new Prison Learning Initiative (PLI) at Coe which will provide a range of high-impact experiences for students and community members to learn about and become involved with the criminal-legal system in Iowa and the Midwest.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 10, 2023) — Augustana College students enrolled in the nature photography class taught by biology professor Dr Stephen Hager exhibited their work on campus January 31.

The fourteen students in the January term biology class explored their relationship with the natural world through photography. Dr Hager said students considered how they can use their relationship to nature for growth and inspiration and how that can be portrayed in photography.
