PELLA, IOWA (August 25, 2022) — Central College became the first college in Iowa — and one of just four in the nation — to earn accreditation from the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Programs. The program is predominantly focused on preparing athletics coaches.

Combining that background with an interest in art and "mechanical things" has led Moyer to produce creative work with "a decidedly industrial sensibility."

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA (August 24, 2022) — Lauren Plumley of Geneseo, Illinois, is part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's 300-member Cornhusker Marching Band, which will make its 2022 début September 3 at Memorial Stadium with pregame and halftime performances at Nebraska's football home opener against North Dakota.

Plumley, a senior mechanical engineering major, plays clarinet.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 23, 2022) — The Iowa Department of Education, Bureau of Nutrition and Health Services, has finalized its policy for free and reduced-price meals for children unable to pay the full price of meals served under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Special Milk Program, and the Afterschool Care Snack Program.

State and Local school officials have adopted the following family size and income criteria for determining eligibility:

IOWA CITY, IOWA (August 23, 2022) — The Carver College of Medicine recently staged its annual Arnold P Gold Foundation White Coat Ceremony for first-year students beginning their medical education at the University of Iowa. BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS (August 19, 2022) — Illinois Wesleyan University's Dean's List for the spring semester of the 2021-22 academic year consisted of 743 students from thirty states and seventeen countries.

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must earn a GPA of 3.50 or better during the semester, based on 4.0 for straight As.
