STORM LAKE, IA (09/11/2017)-- The following students recently graduated from Buena Vista University:

Sioux City, Iowa (September 8, 2017) - Morningside College conferred 35 bachelor's degrees, two Master of Science in Nursing degrees, and 113 Master of Arts in Teaching degrees in August.

PELLA, IA (09/07/2017)-- Central College student Lauren Parsons of Davenport earned a place on the spring 2017 dean's list while studying abroad in Granada, Spain.

The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.

(DES MOINES) – Iowa Department of Education Director Ryan Wise has been named the National Association of State Boards of Education’s (NASBE) 2017 Policy Leader of the Year. The award is given annually to a national or state policymaker in recognition of their contributions to education. Last year’s recipient was Delaware governor Jack Markell.

Des Moines, September 7, 2017—  The Iowa Judicial Branch will join the Iowa Department of Education and The Iowa State Bar Association to present a Constitution Day program for Iowa high school students on Wednesday, September 20. Students will attend the oral arguments in Des Moines and students from around the state will be encouraged to watch the live streaming of two Iowa Supreme Court oral arguments. Both cases involve constitutional issues.

WHITEWATER, WI (09/06/2017)-- Elliot Klim, a native of Bettendorf, IA, and graduate of Bettendorf, will compete for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team during the 2017 season, which began last Saturday.

Klim, a junior at UW-Whitewater, is majoring in Finance.
