SPRINGFIELD (Nov. 8, 2017) — Volunteers who have improved their communities in impactful and significant ways were honored today at the Governor’s Hometown Awards ceremony at the Old State Capitol.
The Rock Island Arsenal/Government Bridge will be closed beginning 6am, Thursday, November 9th through 6pm, Friday, November 10th for maintenance. This closure will be for the roadway only; pedestrian, rail, and navigation traffic will not be affected by the closure.
SPRINGFIELD (Nov. 5, 2017) – Gov. Bruce Rauner issued the following statement regarding the death of Rockford Police Officer Jaimie Cox:
“We are deeply saddened by the death of Officer Jaimie Cox,” said Gov. Rauner. “He paid the ultimate price while working to keep our communities safe. My thoughts and prayers are with his family as they find a way to cope with this tragic loss.”
US and State flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise Thursday to sunset Saturday, Nov. 9-11
SPRINGFIELD (Nov. 7) — The Department of Central Management Services has received notice from Gov. Bruce Rauner that all persons or entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act are to fly the flags at half-staff in honor of: Rockford Police Officer Jaimie Cox
The City of Davenport will observe Veterans Day as a holiday on Friday, November 10th. There are no changes to the solid waste schedule. Pickups will occur on regularly scheduled days.
The parking lane and the west southbound travel lane of Harrison St between 5th and 4th Streets will be closed until further notice due to street collapse. Staff is investigating. Additional information will be released on Thursday.
Travel delays should be expected at the intersection of 4th and Harrison.
Davenport Public Works has issued the following notice:
South Concord St is closed at Minnie St effective immediately, Tuesday, October 24, due to a broken storm sewer that is causing pavement failure. More information about the length of the closure and associated detours should be available on Wednesday, October 25.
The detour for Rockingham Road is now River Drive to Fairmount until further notice.
MOLINE - Beginning Monday, Sept. 25, the intersection of 19th Street and 7th Avenue will be closed through early December to accommodate the future flow of traffic and to improve access to downtown Moline when the I-74 River Bridge is built. The Illinois Department of Transportation and the City of Moline are leading the road projects at and around this intersection.
