Stress Management Program Gives Patients Information and Ways to Manage Their Health throughout the Cancer Journey

DAVENPORT, IA – APRIL 2018 – Beginning Saturday, April 21, 2018, Gilda’s Club is offering an online program to help people diagnosed with cancer, including those undergoing treatment, to manage the stress of diagnosis and treatment. Gilda’s Club received a grant from the Iowa Cancer Consortium to address the unique needs of young adults 18-39 with cancer.

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in Iowa. Anyone can get skin cancer, but most cases can be prevented by practicing sun safety and avoiding tanning beds and devices.

QUAD CITIES (KWQC) – Three people have died in Illinois after using synthetic cannabinoids, more commonly known as “synthetic marijuana” or “fake pot.”

Health officials say some of the products have been mixed with rat poison. The chemical poisons the blood and causes people to bleed out if they are not treated in time.

SPRINGFIELD (Apr. 5, 2018) - The Illinois State Police (ISP) is teaming up with the Save a Star Drug Awareness Foundation to help decrease prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse.

Governor Bruce Rauner announced today that five ISP District headquarters across the state will house receptacles for people to drop off their unused and unwanted prescription medications.
