BETTENDORF, IOWA (December 14, 2021) — The Quad Cities Chamber has ambitious goals aimed at strengthening the regional economy. For the region to reach half a million residents and for the GDP to top $35 billion, public policies must be put in place to support and enhance efforts to grow. ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (December 14, 2021) — The Illinois Housing Development Authority has announced applications are now open for the second round of the Illinois Rental Payment (ILRPP) program. The reopening of ILRPP will provide an additional $297 million to renters and landlords/housing provider in an effort to prevent evictions and keep families safe and secure while they regain their financial footing.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (December 14, 2021) — Volunteers with the Illinois Red Cross are answering the call once more here at home and in communities impacted by devastating tornadoes that touched down this weekend across multiple states in the center of the country. Volunteers spent the weekend assessing damages and distributing emergency supplies, such as tarps to impacted residents in Cass and Fayette counties in Central and South Central Illinois.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (December 7, 2021) — The Quad Cities Community Foundation announced today that its latest Transformation Grant will be awarded to the Quad Cities Housing Council (QCHC) to support affordable housing solutions in the region.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (December 6, 2021)  Red Cross volunteers responded to ten home fires in the Quad Cities and West Central Illinois from November 22 through today. Volunteers with the Disaster Action Team assisted residents impacted by home fires in Aledo (Illinois), Davenport (Iowa), Kahoka (Missouri), and more.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (November 30, 2021) — In recognition of the high-quality education received through the Rock Island Milan School District, the Chapman family is offering a “new” $1,200 scholarship to Rock Island High School Seniors. The Chapman Family Scholarship is available to a student planning be a provider in the medical field and has a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (November 29, 2021) — Milan residents who aspire to join the health-care workforce have a new resource in their corner: the Grant W and Virginia W Brissman Scholarship for Nursing and Health Sciences.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 3, 2021) — Project NOW has partnered with the 14th Judicial Circuit in Rock Island County, the Rock Island County Bar Association, Prairie State Legal Services Inc, and the Salvation Army to develop an Eviction Diversion Program (EDP). The goal of the program is to keep tenants housed while ensuring that small business owners are reimbursed back rent.
